Cosmetically: The microscope retains its original lacquer; however, there is minor crackling throughout the lacquer.
Optically: Lenses are clear and functional.
Mechanically: The fine focus will rise when the knob is turned clockwise but does not lower when turned counter clockwise. The hinge that allows the microscope to tilt is extremely stiff. There is a aperture condensing circle that came with the microscope but there are no means of attaching it. The mirror shows some deterioration. The lock has been broken from the box but it is included.
