ARTR 3263 Book Arts & Paper Making - Student Artists' Books

Course Description

Spring 2024

Instructor: Kristin Rothrock

An introduction to 2D and 3D book arts techniques, such as papermaking, sculptural forms, and traditional methods. Book structures include scrolls, accordion folds, hand-sewn Eastern Bindings, and the Western Codex. A variety of traditional and non-traditional materials have been used, including handmade, found, and recycled/upcycled materials. These books also incorporate handmade paper and natural dyes. Each book connects form to content.
