Description
"My inspiration often comes from the patterns and colors of natural systems. The pages of Tide Journal are handmade, translucent abaca paper, separated into sections that are pigmented in various shades of turquoise and salmon to reference tidal cycles. The covers are copper treated with cupric nitrate to create a patina that suggests the weathering effect of salt water, and the exposure of the shore as a wave recedes. The book is bound with dyed and waxed linen thread, using an exposed coptic stitch sewn across the spine to emphasize the color and texture of the handmade paper."--Abecedarian Gallery website (viewed July 15, 2022)
