Little Free Library: In the Making

Members of the student group Freedom by Design continue to improve upon and create a Little Free Library for campus. Freedom by Design is the community service program within the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS). Based on feedback to make the design more cohesive, the students have updated the design of the lantern feature that will hold the books. Little Free Library (LFL) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to remove barriers to book access This Little Free Library will allow anyone on campus to borrow a book from offerings supplied by J. Murrey Atkins Library.

This exhibit documents the changes and presentation to faculty and staff from the library and Auxiliary Services as sponsors of the project. FBD representatives include Eliot Ball (Director), Jonathan Joles (Secretary), and Kennan Huskison (Treasurer), along with faculty advisor Greg Snyder. They presented their updates to Shelly Hypes (Atkins Library, LFL project manager), Rick Torres (Auxilliary Services, funding), and Jenna Rinalducci (Atkins Library, subject librarian for SoA).

The previous exhibit Little Free Library: A Collaboration provides information about the early stages of the project.
