"The shooting resulted in such an outpouring of support from the Charlotte community. So many of the people that we heard from were just people in the community who were just reaching out. So many people reached out to us through the Chancellor's Office account. You know, just sending prayers and sending support, expressing pride, which is a weird thing, but on how well it was handled. So very complimentary and...proud of the way first responders handled it. So we felt in some ways that this was the first time that the community made UNC Charlotte the community's university. And so, I think that there was a connectedness that's sprung forth from this tragedy."
